Independent Advisory Group
PDH’s Independent Advisory Group provided a variety of perspectives on our research activities and projects, including views of consumer, industry, Māori, Pacific, clinical, and academic experts. The IAG recommended the research portfolio and projects to the board. IAG members were appointed by PDH.
The Independent Advisory Group term completed in March 2023.

Professor Gregor Coster, CNZM
Chairperson
Professor Coster retired as the inaugural Dean of the Faculty of Health at Victoria University of Wellington.

Dr Allan Moffitt
Clinical Director, ProCare Health
Dr Moffitt is a GP working at The Fono, Manurewa and also Clinical Director at ProCare, NZ’s largest PHO. He has an extensive history in primary care at all levels and is a member of the NZ Institute of Director.

Andrew Sporle
University of Auckland
Mr Sporle has expertise in official data innovations and teaches in Statistics at the University of Auckland. He is also a founding member of Te Mana Rauranga, the Māori Data Sovereignty network.

Dr Diana Siew
University of Auckland
Dr Siew is the Co-Chair of the Consortium for Medical Device Technologies.

Dr Helen Lunt
Clinical Director, Health Innovation Hub, Canterbury DHB
Dr Lunt is also an active researcher, undertaking clinical trials in diabetes/metabolism.

Dr Jacqueline Schmidt-Busby
Tumu Whakarae / CEO, Comprehensive Care PHO
Dr Schmidt-Busby is an experienced Pacific health researcher and brings extensive expertise in equity in healthcare.

Jon Herries
Manatū Hauora, Ministry of Health
Mr Herries is the Group Manager, Emerging Health Technologies at Manatū Hauora, Ministry of Health.

Dr Judy Blakey, MNZM
Consumer Health Advisor
Dr Blakey is the Chairperson of the Mairangi Arts Centre’s Board. She is an advocate for consumer perspectives within the NZ health system.
